Effective date: October 29, 2026.

This policy explains how idoghome handles personal information in connection with www.idoghome.com. For questions or requests, contact the site operator at info@idoghome.com.

Information involved when you use the site

You can read our articles without creating an account. We do not offer public member accounts, a newsletter, a shop or a contact form. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send, which may include your name, email address, message, attachments and associated email metadata. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not necessary for your enquiry.

Delivering and protecting a website also involves technical request information. Our server and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser or device information, referring pages, response codes and security events. This information can help identify faults, abusive traffic and attempts to gain unauthorized access.

Why we use information

We use contact information to respond to enquiries, assess corrections and rights requests, and maintain relevant correspondence. Technical information supports delivery, security, performance measurement and troubleshooting. Information may also be used when needed to meet a legal obligation or handle a legitimate legal claim.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, routine operation, security and correspondence rely on legitimate interests, balanced against the individual's rights. Legal requirements may provide a separate basis. Where consent is required for an activity, we must obtain it before that activity begins; consent may be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Service providers and disclosure

Hosting, email and security providers process information needed to perform their services. We use Cloudflare for website delivery and security. Requests to the site therefore pass through Cloudflare, which may process technical and security information. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for its description of that processing.

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We may disclose relevant information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect rights or address a security incident. Private correspondence is not published as a matter of course; we ask permission before using an identifiable personal submission publicly.

Cookies and external resources

We do not use advertising cookies. Cloudflare provides browser performance measurement on the site, including page-loading and interaction timings, page URLs and referring pages. Cloudflare states that its measurement script does not use cookies or browser storage. See its performance measurement documentation for details. Cloudflare may set cookies needed for security or challenge handling, depending on the protection features used. The restricted CMS administration area uses session or authentication cookies for authorized administrators; readers do not need an administrator account.

Article images are hosted on our website, and the public pages use fonts already available on your device. We do not load Google Fonts. Cloudflare may add its own delivery, security and performance scripts to pages. Links to other websites take you to services with their own practices. Using a mailto link opens your email application, whose provider handles your outgoing message.

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking security cookies may affect access or cause a challenge to appear again. Cloudflare describes its cookie functions in its cookie documentation.

Storage, security and international processing

Retention depends on why information is needed. Relevant correspondence may be kept while an enquiry, correction or rights issue remains active and for a reasonable follow-up period. Technical records are retained according to operational and security needs, including investigating incidents. Legal obligations or an ongoing dispute can require longer retention. We do not promise a single retention period for every record.

We use access controls and service-provider safeguards to help protect information, but no internet service or email exchange is completely secure. Providers may process information in countries other than your own, including through Cloudflare's global network. Where applicable law requires protections for an international transfer, those requirements continue to apply.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. Contact info@idoghome.com with your request. We may need proportionate information to verify it and identify the relevant records.

Right to object: where applicable, you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Explain the circumstances so that we can assess the request under the relevant law.

You may also complain to the data protection authority responsible for your location. Contacting us first can help resolve a concern, but does not remove that right. We do not use your information to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Children and changes to this policy

The site is a general informational publication and is not designed to collect children's personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information that should be removed, contact us with enough detail to locate it.

We may update this policy when our services or practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be explained on this page, with any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
